Delete Your Account

You can delete your Book of Mormon Games account at any time, directly from inside the App. Deletion is permanent after a 30-day recovery window. This page explains how to delete, what data is removed immediately, what is retained, and for how long.

Guest play does not create an account. If you have only ever played as a guest, there is nothing to delete on our servers — uninstalling the App or clearing its storage removes all local data.

1. Open the Book of Mormon Games app on your device.
2. Sign in to the account you want to delete (if you are not already signed in).
3. Open Settings from the bottom navigation, then tap Account.
4. Tap Delete Account.
5. Read the confirmation prompt and confirm. The action cannot be undone after the 30-day recovery window expires.

You will be signed out and returned to the welcome screen. The account is now soft-deleted (see retention details below).

If you have lost access to the App (for example, you no longer have the device you signed up on, or your authentication provider is unreachable) and cannot sign in to use the in-app deletion flow, email support@scripturegamesapp.com from the email address associated with your account. Include:

• The email address on the account.
• A statement that you want the account and associated data permanently deleted.

We will verify the request originates from the account holder (typically by replying to the email on file) and then complete the deletion on your behalf within 7 business days. We do not delete accounts based on requests from third parties without verifying you authorized the request.

When you confirm account deletion, the following is removed from our servers within seconds:

• Profile data — display name, avatar selection, custom avatar image (if any), profile preferences, level and progression history.
• Game data — your saved game scores, mastery tracking, daily and weekly goal progress, lifetime statistics.
• Social data — friend connections, group memberships, and any pending or completed friend challenges involving you. Other players will no longer see your name or avatar in their lists.
• Authentication links — any linked sign-in providers (Google, Apple, email/password) are unlinked from the account. Apple-specific sign-in tokens are revoked at Apple as part of the deletion flow.
• Active sessions — all active sign-in sessions on all devices are invalidated. You will be signed out everywhere.

A small amount of data is retained for limited purposes. None of it is shared with third parties for advertising or analytics.

30-day recovery window

For 30 days after deletion, we keep a minimal "tombstone" record containing your email address, deletion timestamp, and (if applicable) the Sign in with Apple subject identifier associated with the account. This exists so that:

• You can email support@scripturegamesapp.com within the 30-day window if you deleted the account by mistake and want it restored.
• We can prevent silent re-link of a Sign in with Apple identity that was just used to delete an account (a security measure required by the Apple delete-account flow).

After 30 days the tombstone is purged. The Sign in with Apple tombstone (a non-personal identifier used only to block silent re-link) is retained beyond 30 days as a safety control.

Purchase records

Subscription and purchase records (managed by Apple App Store and Google Play through RevenueCat) are governed by Apple's and Google's retention rules and our financial recordkeeping obligations. We retain purchase metadata (product, transaction date, entitlement status) as required for tax and audit purposes. We do not retain card numbers, billing addresses, or other financial details — those stay with Apple and Google.

Moderation and safety records

If your account was the subject of a safety report or moderation action prior to deletion, we may retain a minimal record of that action (but not the underlying personal data) for as long as necessary to enforce our Community Standards against repeat violations. Reports involving child sexual abuse or exploitation may be retained as required by United States law (18 U.S.C. § 2258A) for cooperation with law enforcement.

Aggregated analytics

Aggregated, non-identifying analytics (e.g., "Game X was played 500 times in March") may persist in our analytics provider indefinitely. This data does not identify you or contain your personal information after deletion.

After the 30-day recovery window expires, the soft-delete is converted to a hard-delete. At that point your authentication record is fully removed from our servers and recovery is no longer possible. You may at that point register a new account with the same email address; doing so will not restore the prior account.

You may create a new Book of Mormon Games account at any time. A new account starts fresh — prior progress, friends, achievements, and purchases are not transferred. Active subscriptions continue to run on the Apple ID or Google account that owns the subscription even after the in-app account is deleted; if you no longer want the subscription, manage it directly in the App Store or Play Store.
